Classic car shows-

There are a lot of cars which have been restored and made to be in shows. A classic card has to be around 30-40 years old to be referred to as 'Classic'. Many people dream about having an old car restored this however cost a lot of money.

The problem with old cars is that their parts are hard to find and when you finally find they cost a lot. Many people have to actually buy two cars of the same type and use one just for parts by this they can build a car easier and it may come cheaper rather than buying each part.

The cars are generally striped down bare metal, fixed from any damages or rust, given a new spray then get fixed piece by piece till it is in a full shape.

Only true car enthusiastic owners would buy an old car and restore it from top to bottom since this takes a lot of time and money to build but when it is finally built these cars can sell for thousands of money.

In my opinion this is by far what I like to do most. I have recently bought a Volkswagen Golf MK1 and plan to fully restore it in the near future. It may cost me a lot of money but in the long run this will be worth the time and money.

Drifting

These type of car races are not that much of racer but racing styles. by racing styles I mean drifting is a driving style where the driver intentionally over steers in corners cause loss of traction in the rear wheels or sometimes all the tires while still able to control the car.

Drag racing

This is a simple race where cars or motorcycles race a 1/4 of a mile two at a time and the first to cross the finish lines wins. The faster the car is the less time you will finish the race in and that is what it is all about. some cars even need a parachute to slow down since they are going at high speeds.

Track Racing

Track racing is where 2-9 cars gather up to race head to head in a circuit usually with 3 laps. They face a lot of surfaces styles for example concrete, grass, dirt, sand ,wood and even ice.

Slow and show

This is all about how low and slow your car is. some of the cars have their tires tucked way inside the vehicles fenders.Some cars are also so extreme that you can't even turn the vehicles steering wheel fully in either direction without the tires rubbing. Some cars can't even pull out of a drive way without ripping the bumper off or racking the vehicle oil pan.


Rallying
Rallying, also known as rally racing, is a form of racing that takes place on public or private roads with modified production or specially built cars. This sport is distinguished by running not on a circuit, but instead in a point-to-point format in which participants and their co-drivers drive between set control.

Topic 2- Particular Hobby/Interest

Car modification-A modified car consist of any components associated with car tuning. This means replacing the standard factory parts to custom aftermarket parts for example:

-Lowering the suspension of a car to give it more aerodynamics this makes the car more sturdy when turning around corners

-Changing the style of rims/wheels- for example you can change your 

tires to racing tires so you can have more grip on your car when you travel at high speeds,

Changing the exhaust to increase the sound of the engine it makes it louder and deeper.

 

-Short shifter- this makes gears go in easier and smoother this is mainly used to race so there is no time wasted.

-Common non-mechanical upgrades include a cars audio system; though not performance oriented

There is also what is called 'sleeper' tuning. A sleeper car is a car that has high performance and an unassuming exterior this means that its outside looks like every other day car but it is heavily tuned from the inside (the engine).

-Some cars add camber to their wheels. Camber is when a wheel is angled to the outside. This adds more handling to the car, adds steering power and the car has a better grip on the road.

 

Obviously some people take advantage of these car mods and this is why many of the modifications of the car are illegal. These can put your life in danger on the road since you can get distracted by some of them. So do not exceed your limit and enjoy the sport!
